I recently purchased a baby hooded towel for my niece. Her mother chose a flower design for her little girl and I have to admit that my ducky design pales in comparison. The pink flower seats around the baby’s head making the infant’s face the center of the flower. Its petals surround the chubby cheeks and the whole thing comes together in a way that is nothing less than adorable.
The flower design is really different and colorful. It is also very girly which has its appeal as well. My sister-in-law has sent me several pictures of her daughter’s after bath time apparel. This baby hooded towel is a new classic in our family. We have a lot of pictures to prove it.
Some parents may want something a little more understated. When it comes to bath time the infants are so cute that they really don’t need much help. The perfect baby hooded towel is really made of good quality material rather than adorable designs. The cute patterns do have a great impact, though.

Newborn Baby’s First Nights At Home: Tips To Help Your Baby Learn To Sleep Throughout The Night

You have a new baby, oh what wonder and joy this little guy or gal is, however, you have not had a good night’s sleep since being home with this wonderful little creature. Don’t give up. You can help your new baby sleep all night, every night. And remember, you are certainly not alone. Sleepless nights are something common for most new parents.
Newborn babies often sleep 16 or more hours per day. Their sleep time, however, is often done in stretches of just one to two hours at a time. As your baby’s nervous system matures a more consistent sleep schedule emerges and he or she can go longer between feedings.
By the time your new baby reaches three months of age he or she will probably be sleeping for as long as five hours during the night. At six months of age, nighttime stretches of nine to 12 hours are most likely.
Look over the following tips to help your baby become a good sleeper:
• Encourage activity during the day: During the waking hours with your baby keep him or her busy by talking, singing and playing. Provide your baby with lots of light. This type of stimulation during the day can help promote better sleep at night.
• Monitor your baby’s naps: Allow your baby regular naps during the day and not large chunks of time that may cause your baby to stay wide awake at night.
• Follow a consistent bedtime routine: If you bath, cuddle, sing or read to your baby just before bedtime he or she will soon associate these activities with sleep.
• Put your baby to bed drowsy but awake: This technique helps your baby associate bed with the process of falling asleep. Place your baby to sleep on his or her back. Clear the crib or bassinet of blankets and other soft items.
• Give your baby time to settle down: If your baby fusses when you first put him to bed, allow him or her to find a comfortable position for falling asleep. If the crying does not stop within a reasonable amount of time, try speaking calmly to your baby and stroke his or her back to provide reassurance of your presence.
• Consider using a pacifier: If your baby has trouble settling down, try using a pacifier at naptime and bedtime to help reduce his anxiety. One problem of using a pacifier might be if he or she loses during the middle of the night and cries for its replacement. Guess who has to get up in the middle of the night to find the pacifier for baby?
• Expect frequent stirring at night: Don’t be alarmed if you hear your baby squirming and wriggle as they sleep. This is quite normal. Some babies can be noisy. All these things may simply be a sign of settling down. Unless you suspect your baby is hungry or uncomfortable (needing a diaper change or whatever), it is OK to wait a few minutes to see if he or she finally settles down. If not, then better check on baby.
• Keep nighttime care low-key: When you feed your baby or care for he or she during the night, use dim lights, a soft voice and very calm movements. This will teach your baby that it is time to sleep and nothing else.
Some babies sleep throughout the night the first night home. I know my baby slept through the night straight from the beginning of our nights at home. She was such a good baby I would always say.
However, not all babies are alike; respect your baby’s preferences. Take time to understand your baby’s schedule and ways of communicating. They will eventually settle down and sleep the whole night through. If your baby is still fussy at nighttime by age 6 months, ask your baby’s doctor for instruction and suggestions.
The goal here is for everyone to get a good night’s sleep. It is not a measure of your parental skill or a sign of a good or bad baby. I just always thought my baby was the absolute best at everything, and sleeping throughout the night was just one more reason I thought she was “perfect.” She has paid me back though as an adult, and what I got to say about her now is not the same…..At times I ask myself is this the same person I use to know as a baby, toddler and child?

Artist/author, Ray Gatica from Humble, wishes to share a children’s story with children. The story is based on The Official Baby Watcher, (The Li’l Baby Watcher) character. The author believes that it can be used to curb sibling rivalry and even inspire older siblings to take pride in helping watch over their younger baby brother or sister’s well being.
Have you ever had a need to create something because you can't find anything like it in stores anywhere? It happened to the artist, creator of the “The Official Baby Watcher (The OBW)”, an artistic, children’s character, born out of his imagination and a need for a meaningful baby gift for a friend’s newborn baby. The original gift was painted as a two-dimensional poster, since then it has been presented in a soft plush doll that doubles as a decorative wall hanging for the baby's room.
The character is an extension of The Baby Watcher story. In the story, the character is described as a mussy and seemingly unimportant, little misfit named Wob, who magically transforms, over comes his fear and self-doubt to save the baby in the story, from imminent danger - to earn the title - The Official Baby Watcher (see excerpt below). 4 Great Ways to Exercise With Your Kids, Haddonfield Personal Trainer Tells All

1. Workout together: Kids can safely and effectively do many of the same exercises as you can. Avoid maximal lifts (15+ reps recommended just to be safe), and also avoid overhead lifting to prevent growth plate damage. Focus on posture, core strength , upper/lower strength, balance, and flexibility (same things you should focus on). Body weight exercises such as lunges, squats, push ups, pull-ups, crunches, planks, jumping jacks, mountain climbers, jump rope, leap frogs, hula hoop, and squat lunges are great ideas for both of you. Kids love jumping on Bosu balance trainers, stablity discs, kicking around stabiliy balls, and lifting 1-4 lb dumbbells (or a broom stick instead of a barbell). If you’re kids are a little too young to participate (8 and younger) have them help you workout (they can count out your reps and sets for you, use a counter clicker so they are more engaged). Younger kids also make great weight during squats/lunges/and push ups. I guarantee they’ll want to join in after a few workouts even if they totally seem uninterested at first. Here are some great relay race intervals.
Relay Races: Set cones/markers 25 yards apart. Sprint down and back then do 20 sit ups (alternate holding each others feet—partner counts for you). Run backwards down and back then do 20 push-ups (or until failure, help each other pulling up by the waist). Side run down and back then do 20 prisoner squats (hands behind head) hold 5 seconds at bottom (Your partner counts for you). Super skip (high knee skip) down and back then do 30 second plank on your elbows and knees (partner counts it out for you). Repeat 1-2x times. Feel free to get creative and throw in cardio bursts i.e. jump rope, hula hoop, jumping jacks, mountain climbers, ski slalom (jump over a stick back and forth, elevate the stick to spice it up).
Karate classes are another great workout for both of you: Most dojos offer child parent classes. If you don’t laugh at your kids they won’t laugh at you (maybe). Great way to improve balance, stabilization, self esteem, discipline (sensei’s won’t allow disrespect), flexibility, and strength.
2. Both of you get a trainer: If you have a good chunk of weight to lose or you need a little more challenge, get a trainer. Why shouldn’t both of you get an age appropriate workout. 3. Video Games: Who says you can’t get in a great workout playing a video game. Be prepared to work up a major sweat with these intense video games. 4. Set Up A Fitness Challenge: See who can get in the most steps in a day by wearing a pedometer. At the end of the day, tally up the number of steps kids and adults took. The person who took the most steps that day gets a special treat or gets out of doing a chore which the loser has to do. Make it a daily event.
